Career Transition / Outplacement

Individual Preferred
We offer two individually-focused programs geared to the career level of the participant.  Both programs involve two days of training followed by 12 months access to support from an individually assigned Career Transition Specialist.  These programs are broken out as follows:

Day One – Reviews the participant’s career history and decisions made during that period that are relevant to shaping future career growth strategy.  Elements of the resume content are developed for our resume writer to begin writing the participant’s resume.  An optional element during this segment is the use of a professional assessment such as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or Birkman Assessment.  The Birkman Assessment is standard in the Executive Program.

Day Two – The second day of training is focused on developing the individualized job search strategy which includes organizing the process to approach the job search as the participant’s new (and temporary) full-time job.  This involves training the participant to track and follow-up with contact management to ensure that they are effectively maximizing and expanding their personal and professional network.  Training is then provided in career planning, research resources available to learn more about prospective employers, interviewing skills (telephone and face-to-face), research on salary and compensation relative to the participant’s career position, and negotiation strategies for offers of employment.

Follow-up Support – After completing the two day individual training, QualiFind CT participants are ready to launch their efforts with access to their assigned Career Transition Specialist.  During this period of time, participants will benefit from:

  • Direct marketing of the participant’s profile (resume, reference reports, and other data) to both QualiFind’s executive search clients and other employers that utilize the participant’s skill and experience set.  Participant’s resumes are provided to QualiFind clients and other hiring managers without the normal fees associated with search-specific projects.  This represents real value and a cost-savings to hiring managers which translates in increased interest in receiving these candidate introductions.
  • Ongoing guidance to participants on how to post and effectively interface with executive search firms.  We assist the participant in focusing on the search firms that specialize within their discipline and industries they are most interested in.
  • Providing research data on prospective employers and coaching them on strategies to connect with the appropriate hiring manager.
  • Effective leverage of the constantly changing conditions of social networking sites.
  • Providing competitive salary and compensation data for participants to benchmark against offers of employment to ensure they are getting a competitive tangible and intangible employment package in their new role.
  • Unlimited open communication via telephone to provide support in such areas as offer negotiations, networking assistance, and any other matter relevant to assisting them in gaining positive employment as quickly as possible.  Should a participant lose a subsequent job for any reason within that 12 month period, their support services would continue for up to 6 months after the loss of the second employment.
  • Spousal Support – The Career Transition Specialist is also available to meet with the participant’s spouse or significant other too provide support and advice on what they can do to support the participant’s quest for gainful employment.
  • Training Materials – QualiFind CT provides an extensive amount of reference material and handouts in both English and Spanish to support the training provided.

Executive Program (Individual Preferred)
A Vice President in Engineering has very different career transition needs than a Director of Human Resources.  A General Manager of a medical device plant in Chicago has different needs than a General Manager of a medical device manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico.  QualiFind CT recognizes these differences through our Executive Career Transition Program.  This program is facilitated on a one-on-one basis between the executive and the career transition specialist to ensure that these individual needs are properly assessed and dealt with.  The ground work is laid during this portion to establish the road map for the diverse support services provided during the 12 months of this program.  The Executive Program can be offered in either English or Spanish.  Contact Warren Carter at (619) 921-1795 for further details.

Staff Program (Individual Preferred)
This program can be offered in either English or Spanish and is geared to meet the specific needs of the early to mid-career professional for optimum impact.  Optimum impact being:  getting the participant into their next career role as quickly as possible.  For further details, contact Warren Carter at (619) 921-1795.
