Bailouts…  downsizing…  restructuring…  reorganizing…  rightsizing…  plant closures…  shutting down operations...

These are all elements of current economic variations which typically lead to a need to terminate valued employees to enhance a company’s competitiveness or position the company to ride out recessionary conditions.  Having to reduce management and staff can be one of the most difficult challenges that companies face.  QualiFind CT is well positioned to respond to this challenge and provide support and solutions to make the transition a success for both the employer and employee.  QualiFind CT has the industry’s most cost-effective program with the highest level of interpersonal face time between the downsized employee and skilled, experienced career transition professionals.

QualiFind CT professionals have highly customized outplacement programs that are geared for the U.S., Mexico and border-related job markets.  Our programs are not dictated by a large corporation or franchisor that does not have the cultural expertise to meet the specific needs of the region where the downsized employee resides.

We offer ongoing programs at our 1,150 square foot Learning Center in the San Diego-area that can accommodate up to 40 participants at any given time, as well as the option of group and one-on-one training in the city/region where the employee resides.  This minimizes travel costs and employee downtime during what may be a highly demanding schedule prior to the transition out of the company.

Be aware of outplacement services being promoted as low cost solutions that are heavily dependent upon a virtual interface between your employee and the career transition specialist.  Such programs are typically cookie cutter template programs that are packaged with career advice articles that are available for free on the Internet combined with resume writing software that forces the employee to do what he or she could easily do without these so-called “tools”.  For about the same costs as virtual programs offered through large career job boards, QualiFind CT offers customized programs facilitated by full-time dedicated career transition professionals with extensive follow-up one-on-one advice and counseling for up to 12 months after termination.

Our programs are formed from four primary categories and can be customized depending upon your needs, they are:

Individual Preferred  (Executive / Staff)
Group
Individual Express

Individual Preferred
We offer two individually-focused programs geared to the career level of the participant.  Both programs involve two days of training followed by 12 months access to support from an individually assigned Career Transition Specialist.  These programs are broken out as follows:
Day One – Reviews the participant’s career history and decisions made during that period that are relevant to shaping future career growth strategy.  Elements of the resume content are developed for our resume writer to begin writing the participant’s resume.  An optional element during this segment is the use of a professional assessment such as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or Birkman Assessment.  The Birkman Assessment is standard in the Executive Program.

Day Two – The second day of training is focused on developing the individualized job search strategy which includes organizing the process to approach the job search as the participant’s new (and temporary) full-time job.  This involves training the participant to track and follow-up with contact management to ensure that they are effectively maximizing and expanding their personal and professional network.  Training is then provided in career planning, research resources available to learn more about prospective employers, interviewing skills (telephone and face-to-face), research on salary and compensation relative to the participant’s career position, and negotiation strategies for offers of employment.

Follow-up Support – After completing the two day individual training, QualiFind CT participants are ready to launch their efforts with access to their assigned Career Transition Specialist.  During this period of time, participants will benefit from:

  • Direct marketing of the participant’s profile (resume, reference reports, and other data) to both QualiFind’s executive search clients and other employers that utilize the participant’s skill and experience set.  Participant’s resumes are provided to QualiFind clients and other hiring managers without the normal fees associated with search-specific projects.  This represents real value and a cost-savings to hiring managers which translates in increased interest in receiving these candidate introductions.
  • Ongoing guidance to participants on how to post and effectively interface with executive search firms.  We assist the participant in focusing on the search firms that specialize within their discipline and industries they are most interested in.
  • Providing research data on prospective employers and coaching them on strategies to connect with the appropriate hiring manager.
  • Effective leverage of the constantly changing conditions of social networking sites.
  • Providing competitive salary and compensation data for participants to benchmark against offers of employment to ensure they are getting a competitive tangible and intangible employment package in their new role.
  • Unlimited open communication via telephone to provide support in such areas as offer negotiations, networking assistance, and any other matter relevant to assisting them in gaining positive employment as quickly as possible.  Should a participant lose a subsequent job for any reason within that 12 month period, their support services would continue for up to 6 months after the loss of the second employment.
  • Spousal Support – The Career Transition Specialist is also available to meet with the participant’s spouse or significant other too provide support and advice on what they can do to support the participant’s quest for gainful employment.

Executive Program (Individual Preferred)
A Vice President in Engineering has very different career transition needs than a Director of Human Resources.  A General Manager of a medical device plant in Chicago has different needs than a General Manager of a medical device manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico.  QualiFind CT recognizes these differences through our Executive Career Transition Program.  This program is facilitated on a one-on-one basis between the executive and the career transition specialist to ensure that these individual needs are properly assessed and dealt with.  The ground work is laid during this portion to establish the road map for the diverse support services provided during the 12 months of this program.  The Executive Program can be offered in either English or Spanish.  Contact Warren Carter at (619) 921-1795 for further details.

Staff Program (Individual Preferred)
This program can be offered in either English or Spanish and is geared to meet the specific needs of the early to mid-career professional for optimum impact.  Optimum impact being:  getting the participant into their next career role as quickly as possible.  For further details, contact Warren Carter at (619) 921-1795.

Group Program (Onsite at your location or at ours in San Diego)
This program is our most cost-effective when broken down by participant.  We can travel to your location and provide our two day workshop to your affected groups (executive and/or staff).   We have facilitated our Group Programs to groups as small as 3 or as large as 172 participants.  Our Group Programs provide the broad subject matter of career transition via a workshop training and then subsequent days are provided to work with each participant on an individual basis.  For further details, contact Warren Carter at (619) 921-1795.

Individual Express
This program provides many of the feature-rich elements of the above programs but is customized to meet budget limitations or other factors that would make the other elements of our programs unnecessary to successfully transition the participant.  Example:   A participant that is well positioned to gain a new employer within a short period of time due to conditions specific to their industry or discipline.  In this case, the participant may only need assistance with resume writing and coaching on how to handle the offer negotiation process.  This type of scenario would allow us to develop an ala carte menu with program fees limited to those elements only.  To get a proposal detailed to your needs, please contact Warren Carter at (619) 921-1795.

QualiFind CT has provided outplacement services since 1999 throughout Mexico and the United States to such industry-leading clients as Johnson & Johnson Medical, Seagate, Emerson Electric, ACCO Brands and Ingersoll Rand.   Our career transition programs have benefited employees in Mexico in such cities as Nogales, Mexicali, Monterrey, Tijuana, Mexico City, Saltillo and Juarez.   In the United States, we have provided outplacement services in San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago and Jacksonville, FL.

It is in the best interest of the employer to begin an outplacement program as soon as it is determined that an employee/s need to be separated from the company. We can provide you with a free initial consultation to assist in planning and implementing a customized program that includes the essential severance concerns, required notice, survivor support and exit interviews.
