QualiFind’s Process for
Retained Search Engagements

QualiFind’s retained search engagements follow a ten (10) step process as outlined below:

1.  Needs Assessment

QualiFind search consultants start every engagement by getting to know as much as possible about our client.  Whenever possible, we will conduct a site visit to gain a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s operating environment, reporting structure and location/s.  If a site visit is not practical, we will conduct structured conference calls to learn the company’s history through their present day culture and business objectives.  The better we understand our client’s needs – the better we can collaborate as a business partner.

2. Job Description

A critical piece of a successful search project is a comprehensive and detailed job description.  QualiFind conducts structured interviews with decision makers and hiring managers to develop a complete picture of the position.  Everything from the necessary skill set and experience base to what the employee’s day-to-day job will include is covered in this process.

3. Research

A careful analysis of the company, industry, competitors, and marketplace will serve to guide QualiFind’s search strategy.  Our research team will put together a comprehensive plan to guide the sourcing process and develop a talent map of candidate sources.

4. Identification

Guided by our research efforts, our search consultants will follow QualiFind’s time tested process to identify a list of the most qualified candidates for the position.  We will have ongoing communication with our client during this process to ensure that expectations are properly aligned with the results of our market research.

5. Evaluation

Using behavioral and performance-based assessments, our search consultants will qualify the identified candidates based on their requisite skills and career experience.  We will then utilize our internal leadership and/or organizational psychologist to engage short-listed candidates with a structured retention-variable and social intelligence assessment to ensure that the short-listed candidates have both the necessary sticking power and interpersonal skills to leverage their abilities long-term.  The final element of the evaluation process is a thoroughly screened short list of the top 3 to 6 qualified candidates.

6. Reference Checking

We will conduct a minimum of three and as many as six reference checks on the top three candidates within our short list.  A detailed report will be prepared assimilating the reference’s response to a prescribed list of 14 to 18 questions.  QualiFind utilizes two distinctly different processes depending upon the candidate’s country of origin.  Reference checks of candidates based in the United States will follow a distinctly different process from candidates based in Mexico or Latin America.  These processes are related to legal compliance and differing standards in each country.  The reference’s contact information will be included to allow the client to have a follow-up discussion with the reference if so desired.

7. Presentation

Per pre-agreed client discussions, we will present the top 3 to 6 short-listed candidates for consideration to our client.  A detailed summary, current or most recent compensation report, reference reports and resume of each short-listed candidate will be presented to our client for consideration.

8. Background Check

The selected finalist will then undergo a thorough background check by an independent third party that specializes in conducting such checks.  Background checks can include credit, criminal and more extensive reference checks to ensure that the finalist is thoroughly vetted and is ready to receive an offer of employment.

9. Negotiation

This is one of the most sensitive aspects of the recruitment process.  QualiFind search consultants have extensive experience in presenting offers of employment and ensuring that the desired talent is secured for our client.  We work to ensure that the negotiation process goes smoothly and we serve as a helpful intermediary with the goal of establishing a win-win relationship between the selected finalist and our client.  A fair, balanced and competitive offer that secures the desired candidate ensures long-term commitment and retention.

10. Post-Hire Integration

QualiFind’s job is not over once the offer is accepted.  We follow a prescribed process of follow-up for up to ensure that the selected hire has successfully integrated into the organization and role.  We will work to ensure that any issues that arise are quickly addressed by our client and/or the selected hire to ensure success and long-term retention.

QualiFind search consultants do not oversell or misrepresent jobs to potential candidates.  We work vigorously to secure the selected hire is the right fit for the role which ensures that we do not have any warranty or re-work issues.  QualiFind enjoys one of the highest performance records in the industry which would be compromised if our purpose was purely to make a quick placement.  Placing candidates that find long-term personal and career satisfaction within their new role ensures that we have delivered competitive advantage to our client’s organization.
